Robert C. Blume, Chairperson of the Walk As If Board of Directors

Robert Blume serves as the Chairperson of Walk As If’s Board of Directors.

Robert Blume is a lawyer by training and has spent more than 30 years working first as federal prosecutor with the US Department of Justice and then as a “big law” partner at Gibson Dunn. In those roles, Rob has traveled throughout the world and has met with and talked to thousands of people of different ages and from diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds, many of whom practice different religions, hold different jobs, speak different languages, and engage with others in completely different ways. Across these conversations, Rob realized that despite their differences, every person shared a need to be understood, a desire to belong, and a capacity to grow. Rob brings that awareness to his role at Walk As If.

Rob has spent much of his personal and professional experience working through and around the challenges of neurodiversity, learning differences, and overall mental fitness. At Gibson Dunn, Rob serves as senior advisor to the Firm’s Mental Health and Wellness Committee and presents on many mental health-related topics, such as Resilience and Emotional Intelligence, Organizational Wellbeing, Empathetic Communications, and Reframing Failure. Outside the law firm, Rob leverages his experience helping other non-profits, like Neurohope Africa, Hillel of Colorado, and the Colorado Music Hall of Fame, serve the neurological and mental health needs of their constituents.

Rob graduated from Brown University and the Georgetown University Law Center. During his career, he has been recognized as a Global Leader in Crisis Management by Lawdragon 500, and for litigation excellence by several other legal industry publications, including Chambers USA, Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, Who’s Who Legal, Benchmark Litigation, and Law Week Colorado.

Raised outside of Boston, Rob and his family moved to Denver in 2005. Forever grateful for his family and for the personal and professional opportunities he enjoys, Rob loves his music, his skiing, and his dogs.
